Our Maranda Stripe is named after Maranda Pleasant, editor-in-chief of Origin Magazine, Mantra Magazine and Thrive Magazine. As an entrepreneur, activist, philanthropist, artist and all around bad-ass, Kristine is proud to call this amazing women a friend. Her magazines cover real topics, feature significant humanitarians in our community and hard issues that affect societies around the world. Maranda focuses her time and energy on fighting for change that she wishes to see in the world.

The Maranda Stripe has evolved from its original dedication to raise proceeds for @randomactsorg to actually doing a random act of kindness from our team directly! We have donated $2000 to Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence in honor of Maranda. This Boulder Colorado organization helped Maranda when she needed it the most and is committed to ending violence against adults, youth and children through support, advocacy, education and community organizing. Since 1979, SPAN has been a critical safety net for vulnerable populations, providing advocacy and shelter for victims of interpersonal violence.

Domestic violence occurs everywhere and does not discriminate who it affects. It's not an easy topic, so join us is raising awareness by reading about it, talking about it, becoming aware of warning signs and looking out for your loved ones in potentially at-risk situations or relationships.

With the re-release of the Maranda Stripe, we been able to donate $3000 to the Center for Hope and Safety, formerly known as Shelter Our Sisters, in Bergen County, NJ. It's a local organization (to us at K-DEER) that we are getting involved with as they cater to the growing demands of shelters, advocacy and education in our own community.
